Choose a duration that gives people a real chance to reply
The available durations are 1, 6 and 24 hours. Choose according to when recipients can read the proposal, not just how soon you want a conclusion. A team working different hours may need the longest window. Explain what you will do when consultation ends, especially if some people have not replied.
Do not confuse expiry with erasing every copy
The deadline limits access in the application. Manual closure and purging have their own handling, described on the Security and Privacy pages. Someone may have taken a screenshot or recorded a conclusion elsewhere. Voluntarily downloaded files are not remotely erased when a Vibe expires. The host’s actual backup policy must also be distinguished from a browser status.
Example: today’s choice, a conclusion to retain
A team needs to confirm today when a deliverable will be handed over. Consultation stays open for six hours. Once a slot is chosen, the owner records it in the shared calendar and closes the Vibe. The link becomes unavailable, but the appointment is not cancelled: the calendar is now its reference.
What My Vibes keeps on the device
My Vibes is an optional local reminder. A card may still describe a past deadline after its link is no longer offered. The JSON inventory describes references without keys. A separate, optional encrypted backup contains selected access that is still retrievable. Restoring it never extends the server deadline or reopens a closed consultation.
When a lasting record is needed
If a decision must justify a commitment, organize months of work or remain verifiable, retain its conclusion and reasons in a suitable tool. MinuteVibe can support a short consultation, but its temporary nature does not replace an approval procedure or reference document.
